Granite
Granite gets it name from the similar sized 'grains' (granum in Latin) that make up its structure. It is found all round the world and comes in many colours. It is extremely uniform, rarely contains voids and is extremely hard and tough. Because of this it is used for everything from tiles to worktops to whole buildings.
